Interoperable & IoT Platforms

The vast variety of IoT technologies and platforms and the proliferation of IoT devices have resulted in intense fragmentation of the rapidly growing IoT market rendering the work of combining, integrating and enabling the communication between different solutions that need to exchange data quite complex. With AI and data processing techniques further enhancing IoT platforms capabilities and the expansion of IoT to a plethora of vertical domains (ehealth, smart city, smart home, smart energy, industrial automation etc), IoT interoperability, integration and security are becoming even more important, while necessitating the need for mechanisms and platforms that do not only enable sharing but also trading of data for trusted data transactions between different parties. The company works towards providing IoT interoperability and integration solutions covering all different aspects from data collection to data sharing and marketplace mechanisms. New research directions also exploit synergies with already developed IoT solutions like the commercial IoT platform UiTOP and symbIoTe's middleware. Intracom Telecom is a member of the 'Alliance for Internet of Things Innovation' (AIOTI) and participates in ETSI's 'Industry Specification Group on cross-cutting Context Information Management (ISG CIM)'. Indicative projects include Cortex2, IoTFeds, MICSYS, SHAPES (add crossref to ICT for health where SHAPES is included) and symbIoTe.
