Overview

OmniBAS Long Haul (LH) introduces novel solutions for full IP Microwave (MW) transmission at long link ranges with carrier grade availability.

OmniBAS LH addresses effectively the backhaul challenges of mobile networks and extends 5G reach in rural areas and islands. OmniBAS LH can be used to connect remote areas and extend fixed broadband services everywhere. OmniBAS LH can rapidly deploy IP communication and control links for utility companies and governmental agencies, either as the main link or as a back-up path to fiber.

It offers multi-Gigabit IP radio capacity by combining up to 8 carriers with Radio Link Aggregation (RLA) and by supporting market-leading modulations (4096-QAM), while at the same time enables an evolved and smooth migration to an IP architecture. Legacy (TDM) services can also be seamlessly transported over IP with carrier-class reliability and the highest availability.

The advanced radio and smart packet networking features of OmniBAS LH products assure optimal frequency spectrum usage, carrier-grade service delivery and the highest-possible availability at long ranges with exceptional RF performance.

Highlights

A Novel IP LH Family

The OmniBAS™ LH IP MW portfolio allows flexible deployment with a minimal number of models, simplifying operator's logistics and optimizing the Total Cost of Ownership (TCO).

OmniBAS LH is based on the split-mount architecture with modular Indoor units (IDUs) equipped with double modem cards and novel LH Outdoor units (ODUs) at 6,7,8 and 11 GHz, supporting two carriers per unit. The OmniBAS LH portfolio also includes advanced RF combining circulator units and all the required accessories to implement a complete LH link.

  • Highly-advanced, modular LH indoor units (LH IDUs):
    • OmniBAS-4Wv2e and OmniBAS-4Wr are part of the OmniBAS IDU portfolio and offer unique synergies with installed base of OmniBAS links.
    • IDUs are equipped with the double modem card PTPv4-d, SW configured for Carrier Aggregation (CA), supporting 2 RF channels over 1 IF interface
    • OmniBAS™-4Wv2e (1RU): modular unit supporting up to four modem cards PTPv4-d and eight radio channels, one Control Card (10GbE, GbE) and one Interface card
    • OmniBAS™-4Wr (2RU): modular unit supporting up to four modem cards PTPv4-d and eight radio channels, one or two (for full redundancy) Control Card (10GbE and GbE), one optional PSU unit (for power redundancy) and two TDM Interface cards (16E1, 32E1)
  • Compact high-performance LH Band Free outdoor units (LH ODUs):
    • Frequencies: 6 (6L and 6U), 7/8 and 11 GHz
    • OmniBAS LH ODUs consist of 2 sub-units
      • ODU-CA: Band free, High Power (HP). The novel band free design enables just one model per group of frequencies (6 (6L and 6U), 7/8 and 11 GHz)
      • OAD: OmniBAS Advanced Duplexer for 2 carriers. OAD models are specified per frequency, Channel Size and Sub-band.
    • LH ODUs support dual carrier operation
    • Market-leading modulation up to 4096-QAM
    • Software-defined channel size 7 - 80 MHz
  • Compact OmniBAS Circulator Units (OCIRC) enabling 4+0 and 8+0 configurations in one antenna. Thanks to their novel broadband design, just one model is required per group of frequencies (6 (6L and 6U), 7/8 and 11) is needed.
  • Full set of ancillaries for complete LH link installations.
NMS
  • Managed by state-of-the-art element / network / service unified management suite (uni|MS™).
  • Embedded Web Node Manager.
  • G.826 statistics for radio paths.
  • RMON statistics for Ethernet and radio ports.
  • SNMPv3.
