Project Overview
COoperative Real-Time experiences with EXtended reality.
The mission of CORTEX2 is to bridge the divide between widespread video-conferencing tools and state-of-the art XR-based solutions, democratising the uptake of next-generation eXtended Reality tele-cooperation among a large number of industrial segments and SMEs. The project aims to facilitate remote collaboration between workers through next-generation extended reality (XR) technology solutions across a wide range of industries and SMEs. To this end, it develops a highly innovative and digital XR platform specifically geared to facilitate work and social activities involving physical interaction with the environment and remote objects, from industrial cooperation to technical training and business meetings. The XR platform will create more immersive experiences for participants of videoconferences by integrating rich contextual IoT information to video streams, rendered as AR annotations on top of displayed objects and persons. The project will implement three different use cases as pilots in the vertical domains of Business Meetings, Remote Training and Industrial Maintenance.
Intracom Telecom Participation
Intracom Telecom brings its commercial Unified IoT Orchestration Platform (uiTOP), enriched with a set of developed IoT services as part of the Cortex2 XR platform, enabling the integration of IoT devices into XR applications for a more immersive remote XR experience.
