TERRAMETA

Project Overview

TERahertz ReconfigurAble METAsurfaces for ultra-high rate wireless communications.
TERA6G is a Research and Innovation project in the 6G Smart Networks and Services Joint Undertaking of Horizon Europe, which comprises 5 EU academic and 5 industrial partners, who will collaborate to leverage state-of-the-art integrated Radiofrequency (RF) Photonics technology to deliver disruptive wireless transceiver modules unlocking the "Fiber-over-the-Air" concept. The concept uses independently steerable wireless pencil-beams with fiber data throughput capacity. The project sets as a goal to design, with the use of hybrid photonic integration, new agile, scalable and reconfigurable wireless transceivers.

Intracom Telecom Participation

As a member of TERA6G consortium, Intracom Telecom will develop new electronic parts for baseband and Intermediate Frequency (IF) components based on the company's UltraLink™ platform, interfacing with novel photonics-enabled mmWave and THz transceivers, contributing to the development of new fixed and moving nodes for 6G scenarios and the validation of the integration of the modules that will be developed.
