SUNRISE-6G
Project Overview
SUNRISE-6G is the European 6G Flagship Infrastructure Project by the 6G Smart Networks and Services Joint Undertaking (SNS JU) that aims to develop the first pan-European facility for 6G infrastructures, employing a scalable, open and standards-compliant approach to experimentation and vertical application deployment and providing access to a comprehensive library of 6G enablers. The project will federate 14 6G testbeds in 8 EU member states, under a common Experimentation Plane and a collaborative Federated AI plane aligned with Artificial Intelligence as a Service (AIaaS) and Machine Learning Operations (MLOpS) paradigms, as well as cooperating test-beds (EU-USA and EU-EU) from the large scale ESFRI SLICES-RI project. SUNRISE-6G will support converged Testing as a Service (TaaS) workflows and tools, cross-domain vertical application onboarding and a unified catalogue of 6G enablers publicly accessible by experimenters, including Joint Communication and Sensing, Reconfigurable Intelligent Surfaces (RIS), AI-driven intent actuation and MLOps pipeline automation, Non-Terrestrial Networks (NTN) and Open Radio Access Network (ORAN) innovations.
Intracom Telecom Participation
Intracom Telecom will lead the implementation of the SUNRISE-6G Open Federation Framework, building on open standards and open-source Network-as-a-Service components (e.g., CAMARA Service APIs). Furthermore, Intracom Telecom will lead the MLOps & AI Plane Federation aspects of the project, contributing to Zero-touch automation and orchestration of federated experimentation facilities.
