NextGEM

Project Overview

Next Generation Integrated Sensing and Analytical System for Monitoring and Assessing Radiofrequency Electromagnetic Field Exposure and Health.
The NextGEM project (Next Generation Integrated Sensing and Analytical System for Monitoring and Assessing Radiofrequency Electromagnetic Field Exposure and Health) aims to study the effects and possible health risks of electromagnetic fields (EMFs), especially with the next generation of radiofrequency EMFs (5G/B5G), in the general population and to develop a central data repository that will act as the main Hub comprising of EMF-related knowledge addressed to all interested parties, including scientific communities, policy-makers, regulators and citizens. NextGEM project will design a new framework to encompass scientific knowledge and data on new scenarios of exposure to EMF in multiple frequency bands in residential, public and occupational settings. Its overall vision is to contribute towards a healthy living and working environment, under safe EMF exposure conditions.

Intracom Telecom Participation

Intracom Telecom is leading the innovation activities for the Data Platform that will encompass the novel project outcomes and will act as the European Knowledge Hub for EMF data. In addition, Intracom Telecom is leading the implementation of “Data Spaces” components and acts as a liaison with relevant communities (IDSA, GAIA-X).
