How does the Smart Carport work?
By having the infrastructure interconnected with the electrical grid, the Smart Carport can operate either as a Net Metering installation or as a fully energy autonomous (off-grid) installation. It utilizes the electric energy generated by the photovoltaic panels installed on the roof of the canopy in combination with battery storage arrays to store the generated energy when it is not consumed. The power supply needed for the Smart Carport charging requirements, can be covered autonomously, reducing this way the owner's CO2 emissions. This contributes to achieving the EU goal of reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 55% by 2030 (Fit for 55). The photovoltaic panels depending on their power capacity, enable simultaneous charging of hybrid (PHEVs) and/or battery electric (BEVs) cars; 4 EVs can be charged through 2 charging stations with 2 positions each. Depending on the charging needs and available space, expansion options are provided.
What does the Smart Carport include?
The parking spaces are equipped with remote-controlled sensors (smart parking) to automatically detect their occupancy or the time/manner of parking, as well as smart LED lighting that is activated according to the brightness of the environment or the presence of a car, etc. Additionally, there is a WiFi access point, allowing users or visitors to alternatively activate or deactivate the charging through a mobile app or navigate the corporate site, if desired, during the charging session. Furthermore, there is the option to integrate other customized solutions, such as the installation of security cameras or an environmental data and air quality monitoring station. The complete remote management and customization of the solution are carried out through Intracom Telecom's uiTΟP™ platform, which also provides optional billing services.
