Disaster Recovery as a Service (DRaaS)

Disaster Recovery (DR) is the coordinated process of restoring systems, data, and the infrastructure required to support ongoing business operations after a disaster occurs. It restores a previous copy of the data and applies the necessary procedures to that copy to bring it to a known point of consistency. After all recovery efforts are completed, the data is validated to ensure that it is correct.

The Cloud-based Disaster Recovery Service complements the existing Backup as a Service offering and enables businesses to continue their operation in a pre-calculated time frame by turning on a virtual copy of their environment at Intracom Telecom's Cloud, in case of a disaster. It follows the Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) based Cloud service model.

Service Flavors

Basic: A cost effective DR Service for price sensitive customers that can withstand a longer Recovery Time Objective (RTO) value in favor of cost savings.

Premium: A low RTO value DR Service, addressing customers who are willing to pay the premium in order to achieve very short recovery times.

Benefits

  • Minimise business impact on a disaster - avoid loss of revenue, brand damage or loss of productivity
  • Reduce downtime and continue to operate as normal from the remote offsite location even as you work on recovering your primary site
  • Ensure high availability and business resilience at a very low cost
  • Dramatically reduce time to recover - achieve instant recoveries of your data and applications (especially applied with the Premium service option)
  • Fail back to the primary site, using a simple and efficient procedure, once normalcy is declared
  • Data is encrypted at source using a NIST FIPS 140-2 certified encryption algorithm that ensures that the data is secure both in-flight and at rest
  • Change block tracking, deduplication and certified encryption techniques that achieve enhanced efficiency and security

Disaster Recovery as a Service addresses small, medium or large organizations that consider their business continuity a substantial factor of their survival and cannot withstand the catastrophic results of disasters. DRaaS fully complies with regulatory requirements that force organizations to be equipped with a Disaster Recovery solution and perfectly complements the Backup as a Service (BaaS) solution.
