Intracom Telecom supports the European Pact for Youth initiative

Athens, Greece - 12 December 2016 - Intracom Telecom, a global telecommunication systems and solutions vendor, announced today its commitment to support the European Pact for Youth initiative, aimed at boosting youth employability and inclusion and reducing the skills gap. By signing this pact, Intracom Telecom is demonstrating its dedication to create traineeships and job openings.

The European Pact 4 Youth was initiated by CSR Europe and the European Commission in November 2015 with the vision to create a fair and equitable culture of partnership between business, education and youth in Europe, to prepare young people for quality jobs and responsible citizenship and to create at least 100,000 new good quality apprenticeships, traineeships or entry-level jobs.

Intracom Telecom endorses the European Pact 4 Youth and participates in the task force, led by CSR Hellas, in order to coordinate the efforts to create 2,000 good quality traineeships in Greece, to reduce the skills gaps and create a new framework for the traineeships.

"Youth unemployment remains one of the most pressing challenges in Greece and EU today," said Mr. M. Ahmed, President and CEO of Intracom Telecom, and continued: "We are honoured to be a member of the European Pact for Youth and we aim to leverage our ICT expertise to support the education and development of young people, and their scientific research."
