RF & Microwave Systems
The R&D activity of the Lab is focused on the development of Microwave and millimeter wave circuits integrated into the point-to-point and point-to-multipoint digital radio systems with the following general features:
- Frequency range: 1.4 GHz to 86 GHz
- Channel Bandwidth up to 1GHz
- Various modulation schemes up to 4096-QAM
- Medium and high capacities up to 6 Gbps
Lab is mainly involved on the following areas:
- System design: Transceiver system analysis in terms of modem capabilities, System and Circuit simulation, measurement and optimization
- System evaluation
- Microwave and millimeter wave design including active and passive elements (up/ down converters, LNAs, Power Amplifiers, gain control, synthesizers, VCO, switches, filters, multiplexers, couplers, combiners, circulators, polarizers)
- Design on high frequency Printed Circuit Boards (microstrip & stripline), Waveguides (rectangular & circular) and combination of above
- Antenna design (Flat Panel, Horn, Sectoral, linear polarization, circular polarization)
- Test fixtures design
