IAS stands for INTRACOM TELECOM Access network System and is specially developed to serve as Full Service Access Platform. The system is characterised by a modular construction and is capable of assuring maximum flexibility in the deployment of any type of access network architecture. Moreover, the high degree of system integration as also flexibility of modular units allows for best fitting to the customer's needs.

At urban areas, the primary access network is mainly wirelined, enhanced with HDSL technology. At rural areas, due to ground morphology and residential spread, the primaryaccess network is mainly wireless.
