iBAS MSAN Rel. 5

iBAS MSAN logo
Overview

iBAS MSAN Rel. 5 is specially designed to provide a wide variety of subscriber interfaces, ranging from broadband (ADSL/2/2+, G.SHDSL, and IMA), to narrowband (POTS, ISDN-BRA/PRA, E1 and TDM-SHDSL) from the same chassis. Broadband subscriber traffic is routed to the Metropolitan Area Network through Gigabit Ethernet interfaces or to the ATM network through STM-1, E1/T1 IMA interfaces. ATM and Ethernet interfaces can operate in parallel providing concurrent connections to the ATM and Ethernet networks. This enables every service provider to implement load balancing or dual homing scenarios to achieve unhindered routing of traffic.

Benefits
iBAS MSAN release 5 Cabinet
  • Support for legacy Backhauling networks with triple homing capabilities (concurrent Ethernet, ATM and TDM uplink interfaces)
  • Gigabit Ethernet uplink Interfaces for data (High Speed Internet / VPN service), video (IPTV) Multicasting / Unicasting and voice (ISDN & PSTN) services
  • Versatile and efficient Access platform functioning as: DSLAM, Access H.248 Gateway, V5.2 Concentrator and 802.16 wireless Access Platform
  • Fast increase of revenue using the existing copper infrastructure
  • Common platform for both Central Office and Remote Cabinet installations, resulting in low OPEX and maintenance costs
  • Common platform for all services, supported by a unique network Manager (Element / Network Manager)
  • Reduced customer churn, increased customer base and customer satisfaction
  • Market position strengthening.
