I^2ESports Interactive Enhanced Sports

I^2ESports is a suite of Digital Interactive TV Sports applications, supporting multiple networks and Set-top box middleware solutions.

I^2ESports provides an interactive sports experience to the viewers by enhancing related content (statistics, news, information) to a football or basketball broadcast. All the user needs is a digital TV Set-top box connected to its TV set and knowledge to operate a simple remote control unit.

I^2ESports also challenges the viewers to make a series of predictions as the live match plays out to prove their anticipatory skills and sport knowledge and to win one of the prizes offered by the sponsors. For the user interaction a return channel is additionally required (implemented usually with a PSTN modem in the Set-top box).

I^2ESports supports customisable Graphical User Interface (GUI), providing the operator with the capability to define different "windows" for presenting video, information, advertisements and information tickers. I^2ESports operators are offered end-to-end application development and operation support, from specifications and GUI customisation to Set-top box software (for several Set-top box middleware systems), application server, data-base systems and application playout. Multiple languages are supported both in GUI and delivered content.
