Intelligent Site
Your 24-hour On-Site Virtual Employee
INTRACOM TELECOM's Intelligent Site (IS) is an innovative solution of advanced and sophisticated design that addresses the Operators' needs to remotely monitor and control equipment of their network distributed over a large geographical area, with numerous sites, distant from their central monitoring station (e.g. the Operation & Maintenance Centre - OMC).IS addresses the contemporary market need for "intelligent interaction" between the Operator's central station and the
remote sites, regarding the surveillance and control of the network.
IS allows centralized management of the Operator's remote sites, through sophisticated equipment, which provides:
- Real-time network monitoring and control
- Optimization of the network performance
- Substantial reduction in operational and maintenance costs and at the same time increase of revenues
- Centralized access to remote sites for retrieving data and handling alarms
Business Benefits
Lower OPEX
- Fewer site visits, as a consequence of remote control
capabilities
- Remote handling of malfunctioning equipment
- Reduced maintenance costs
- Fast & easy troubleshooting and localization of faults
- easy to make the right decisions
Higher Revenues
- Increased ON time operation at the remote sites
- Increased network availability & reliability
Integrated Solution
- All-in-one solution incorporating discrete modules for
the monitoring & control of:
- Site access
- Physical security
- Air conditioners
- Generators
- Batteries
- Obstruction lights, etc.
IS Architecture
Central Control Subsystem (CCS)
- Monitors and controls all the remote sites within the Operator's network
- Incorporates the central station equipment (i.e. servers, clients, controllers, etc.)
- Runs the SCADA application software
Remote Station Subsystem (RSS)
- Monitors and controls all the peripheral equipment at the remote sites, through appropriate IS equipment
(i.e. controllers, sensors, instruments, actuators, etc.) and software installed locally at each remote site
- Controlled and configured by the CCS
Communication Network Subsystem (CNS)
- Provides the means of communication between CCS and RSS, through Ethernet or GPRS connections
IS Capabilities
- Troubleshooting, localization and restoration of faults without the need for on-site visits
- Remote monitoring & control of on-site authorized / unauthorized access
- Charging management and maintenance of batteries for extended life and optimized operation
- Monitoring & control of air conditioners - maintaining safe and efficient operation in the long run - notifying users
for maintenance actions (replacement of filters, coolant, etc.)
- Free cooling monitoring & control
- Generator monitoring & control:
- Start / stop of operation
- Fuel consumption & leakage
- Real-time measurement of the fuel tank level with accuracy < 0.5% - fraud, during the fuel tank refill, is thus prevented
- Over-consumption
- Generator's total running time & remaining time for maintenance
- Monitoring of the Automatic Switching Power Control Unit, to minimize the generator's switch over
- Power monitoring & control:
- Full remote control of the electrical circuit breakers
- Monitoring and logging of electrical power meter values (power consumption in Watts / day, etc.)
- Site Safety & Security (against intrusion, fire, flood, etc.):
- In-shelter motion detection
- Smoke or fire detection
- Flood detection
- Monitoring of obstruction lights status
- Image capturing of sites' interior or exterior area
- Integration of Network Management System (NMS):
- SNMP traps toward / from NMS
- System-generated alarms forwarded toward NMS
- On-screen user guidance for proposed corrective actions on predefined emergency situations
Key Advantages
- Built on off-the-shelf hardware of proven reliability for operation in hard industrial environments
- Software is based on high-level programming languages to allow future expansions and modifications
- Native Ethernet-based communication (wired or wireless) between all IS subsystems
- Unlimited system expansion through additional servers and software licenses
- Controllers at remote sites allow the communication with the local peripheral equipment using any known protocol
(TCP/IP, PPP, Modbus/TCP, SNMP, SMTP, FTP, Profibus, CANopen)
- GUI-based software allows users to easily customize the working environment without specialized training
- Solution reflects INTRACOM TELECOM's long-standing experience and excellence in SCADA systems and mobile
networks implementations
