Full-Service Content Delivery Network
fs|cdn™ is composed of the following network entities:
- Video Headend, which receives and processes the video content to be delivered to platform users. fs|cdn™ Streamer/Scrambler encrypts the video stream using the Conditional Access System, in order to be securely transmitted over the Core and Access networks. The fs|cdn™ platform has been integrated with a number of Video Headend equipment vendors, including Tandberg, Harmonic, Tut Systems, and others.
- Content Distribution Edge Network handles end-user interaction and carries out real-time authentication and authorization of subscribers and delivery of content through the fs|cdn™ Edge Servers. These can be located either at the Central Offices - in the case of a centralized deployment scenario- and/or the Points of Presence (PoPs), in the preferred case of a distributed architecture. VoD servers (i.e from partner vendors C-Cor, Anevia, Kasenna) are located at this point to enhance the viewing experience, each time a subscriber interacts with the VoD modules.
- Customer Premise Equipment (IP STB) & Client Software Modules(ISG) including all the hardware (IP Digital Set Top Box ) and software components that subscribers need to access the available Interactive Content Services. Our Set Top Box partners include Amino, Scientific Atlanta, Wegener, Motorola and others.
- Integrated Management Platform that provides monitoring and management of fs|cdn™ elements, content assets and system users by using Service Subscriber Management module, enabling operators to control all system parameters from a single, unified interface.
